It's
Not About the Food
Diets typically fail because
the dieter isn't addressing their
real issues. It's not about the
food, and it's not about the weight,
those are superficial issues.
The real driving force
is deeper, usually hidden from
your conscious mind.
That is why it seems so hard to
make a change. No matter how hard
you try, no matter what diet you've
endured, nothing changes. Obesity
is not a disease, but rather a
symptom of one or more underlying
emotional issues, and those emotional
issues can be resolved, without
pills, drugs or surgery.
Why can one person eat so much
more than another? Is it their
metabolism and good genes, or
do their thought patterns have
an influence? If you are thinking
how fat you are with every bite,
with every waking moment, you
are feeding your subconscious
mind the idea, "I'm fat."
Your brain will gladly support
that belief by driving you to
desire more to eat, making it
more difficult for you to follow
through with your plan to make
a change. Beliefs drive our behaviors.
Beliefs Drive
our Behaviors
I believe I will not starve if
I must delay a meal, and therefore
I feel no fear about going without
food when hunger starts. I'll
eat soon enough. What do you believe?
Do you get panicky at the first
sign of hunger? Why is that? What
is really going on?
Do you believe because something
happened in your past you are
now stuck and nothing will ever
change. Can one event color your
entire life going forward? It
can if you let it, but it doesnt'
have to be that way.
Only You Know
Your Issues
Your issues might be related
to your past in your upbringing
or something during your childhood,
they could be due to circumstances
in your present (people you deal
with now), or even imagined events
in your future. Only you know
what your "issues" are.
You do not even need to
know what it is that bothers you,
just that something does.
You may not want to face some
things -- especially old traumatic
memories and fears -- but those
very traumas and fears may be
the obstacles that are holding
you back from a breakthrough in
changing your life for the better.
Stop getting in your own way.
Using EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)
and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)
is a great way to release those
issues, whatever they may be,
without having to re-experience
them in the process.
EFT and NLP are both methods
to disrupt the energy patterns
that keep you stuck. EFT can be
learned very quickly, sometimes
in 30 minutes or less. If you
need a refresher or introductory
course, materials are available
at no cost (see resource box below).
EFT for Vague
or Unknown Fears
You can use EFT in a vague and
unspecified way, if you don't
know, or don't want to know exactly
what issues are troubling you.
"Even though I have this
fear, I deeply and completely
accept myself." -- "This
fear"
"Even though I don't know
what is wrong, I deeply and
completely accept myself."
-- "Don't know"
If you do know the event or trauma,
you can specify it without becoming
immersed in the memories:
"Even though I'm still
upset when I think of that day,
I deeply and completely."
This works because you know what
happened that day. You don't have
to put it into words.
What changes is the strong emotional
intensity attached to a memory,
not the memory itself. You'll
still recall an event, but now
you can tell another about it
and not feel upset in the telling.
There will be no more tears, no
more rapid heart beat, no more
feeling like you'll be sick. If
you need assistance a qualified
EFT professional can walk you
through the process. Many times
one session can resolve old issues
that have kept you stuck all these
years.
You'll know you have the right
intensity for EFT to work when
you notice any physiological changes
such as your breathing changing,
your heart beating more rapidly,
slumping over or hanging your
head.
Break Traumatic
Connections with EFT
Your memories form a connection
(a neural pathway). That pathway
can be thought of as yarn, string,
fishing line, rope, or it might
be a metal chain. It could be
very thick and heavy or thin and
brittle. Applying EFT to that
connection simply zaps it and
dissolves it, cuts it, or in whatever
way you'd like to see that old
connection broken and then cleared
away.
Once the emotional issues have
been cleared, then the outward
symptoms begin to heal. You'll
be happier, enjoying your life
more and feeling better than you've
ever felt, and in the process,
you'll come to know how much food,
what foods, and what situations
best feed your soul. You are much
more than your outward appearance.
You are magnificent, believe in
yourself as the magnificent being
you are. Give thanks for your
creation, and believe in your
capability to achieve whatever
you want to achieve.
If you need assistance with getting
a traumatic event cleared, private
sessions can help. Generally it's
simply a matter of completing
the round, continuing to tap even
though you want to stop. How often
have you wanted to change your
eating but stopped yourself? Wouldn't
you like to get past that stopping
point once and for all? It could
be the walls put up by a reluctance
to face a moment of upset that
is all that is in the way. EFT
can dissolve that feeling in an
instant. |
